Verstappen: No reason to let Sainz through

Red Bull/Getty Images Max Verstappen says there was no reason for him to allow Toro Rosso team-mate Carlos Sainz Jr. through during the closing stages of the Singapore Grand Prix. Verstappen stalled at the start and dropped a lap but was able to recover during the Safety Car periods and wound up in eighth, closely behind Force India's Sergio Perez. Toro Rosso asked Verstappen to allow Sainz through but the Dutchman refused, with the pair maintaining their positions across the final couple of laps.
