Alonso: Eighth representative
Fernando Alonso says McLaren's pace in Friday practice for the Singapore Grand Prix was “representative”. Alonso was eleventh in the opening session at the Marina Bay Circuit, but managed eighth in the second and is hopeful that could translate to a good position in qualifying on Saturday. “I think so, I think we should be not too far from that position,” Alonso replied, when asked if the speed shown in FP2 was representative. “The first three teams are quite fast - Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes - and after that there is a group of cars and we are on those. “So from seven to 14th there will be three or four tenths tomorrow and we could be one of the first or one of the last...
