Smog haze clouds Singapore Grand Prix
A haze of smog is causing a headache for organisers of the Singapore Grand Prix just days before the Formula 1 paddock descends on to the Marina Bay street circuit. The city is currently engulfed in a thick smog caused by farmers in neighbouring Indonesia burning forests to clear land for agriculture and it is feared air pollution levels are becoming a major concern. In a statement released by race organisers it explains the smog could only become an issue if it effects visibility, public health or operations during the Grand Prix weekend. On Sunday, the smog was rated as mid-to-low 'unhealthy' on the Pollutant Standard Index and a number of sporting events in Singapore were called off...
