Widespread F1 changes to be introduced with rapid effect

British Grand Prix – The much vaunted Strategy Group meeting that was held on the Wednesday prior to the British round of the F1 Championship has met with unanimous agreement on several issues. The meeting was held at Biggin Hill in London yesterday, and has met with decisions regarding the direction of the sport. Consisting of McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes, Williams, Red Bull & Force India, an overhaul of the power unit penalties has been unanimously agreed upon. The current rules have seen numerous grid penalties handed out to drivers (mostly those from the Honda & Renault powered teams), leading to an outcry from fans about the severity and complexity of the situation.
