Alonso to miss FP3 with ‘race-ending' engine troubles
After discovering an engine issue late yesterday, McLaren-Honda are to install a fourth internal combustion engine in Fernando Alonso's car. McLaren staff remained deep in closed-door discussions when FormulaSpy attempted to reach the team for comments on the issue, but BBC sources report that the issue discovered by garage staff yesterday could be characterized as 'race-ending.' Yesterday, the technical delegate revealed that McLaren installed new a new turbocharger and MGU-H but elected to continue running both Jenson Button and Alonso with their third, Monaco-spec internal combustion engine.
