Alonso absent from Barcelona F1 test
Fernando Alonso will be absent from this weekend's post-Spanish Grand Prix test at Barcelona, his McLaren team announced. The Woking-based team said Alonso's teammate Jenson Button will drive the Honda-powered MP4-30 on Wednesday, taking over from British test driver Oliver Turvey, at the wheel of the car on the opening day on Tuesday. Alonso, who was involved in a mysterious crash during pre-season testing at the Spanish circuit, retired from yesterday's race with brake problems. Button went on to finish in 16th position and admitted he had driven the scariest 30 laps of his life.
