FIA confirms German GP demise

– The FIA's World Motor Sport Council has confirmed that there will not be a German Grand Prix this season - and there will be no replacement - thus reducing the number of races in the 2015 calendar to 19.It will be the first time since 1960 that a Formula 1 race will not be held in the country.The Nürburgring was set to host this year's event as part of its agreement with Hockenheim, but talks with Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone were not successful.Ecclestone attempted to reach a deal with Hockenheim, but the circuit was not able to agree terms and earlier this week confirmed that it would not host the race.On Friday, the WMSC published a revised 2015 calendar without Germany,...
