Hamilton tops damp opening morning of testing in Barcelona

+ Lewis Hamilton was fastest for Mercedes on the opening morning of the final pre-season test in Barcelona. The reigning champion shot to the top of the timesheets an hour into the session with a time of 1:24.881, set on the medium Pirelli tyres. Hamilton completed 48 laps – the most of any driver – despite a lengthy rain shower which limited running in the final hour of the morning. Felipe Massa completed 29 laps in the morning on route to second fastest for Williams, ahead of Daniil Kvyatt in the Red Bull.
