Sainz fastest as Alonso crashes on final morning in Barcelona
+ Carlos Sainz was fastest for Toro Rosso on an interrupted final morning of running the second pre-season test in Barcelona. Sainz topped the timesheets early in the morning with a lap of 1:25.684 on the soft tyre, before bolting on a set of Pirelli’s super-soft rubber and lowering the benchmark by eighth hundredths of a second to a 1:25.604. The Spaniard was top when the session was brought to a premature end following an accident for Fernando Alonso at Turn 4 in the McLaren. The double-world champion was fifth fastest before his unexplained late off. Sebastian Vettel completed 59 laps of the Circuit de Catalunya before the early stoppage, on route to second fastest for Ferrari. Nico...
