Lotus reserve driver deal a ‘no brainer' – Palmer

+ Reigning GP2 champion Jolyon Palmer says joining Lotus as the team’s reserve driver for 2015 was a ‘no brainer’. Palmer comfortably claimed last year’s GP2 title, wrapping up the championship at the penultimate round of the season, but he struggled to find a race seat in Formula 1 for 2015. The Englishman, son of former F1 racer Jonathan Palmer, was confirmed as Lotus’ third driver for 2015 last week, and said the Friday track time promised by the team made it an easy decision to sign. “The number of people who have got relevant track time in a current F1 car is not high, so to secure that was definitely the best thing I could do,” Palmer told the Official Formula 1...
