Mercedes hopes to run new car in mid-January

– Mercedes hopes its 2015 challenger will be prepared in time for a private test outing later this month.The first collective test of the year is scheduled to take place at Jerez from February 1-4, but Mercedes chief Toto Wolff has targeted a shakedown at Silverstone in advance."We are on track with development and have a clear idea of where we stand in terms of the chassis and engine," Wolff told La Gazetta dello Sport."The first goal is to assemble the car for mid-January, when we plan to test at Silverstone.
