Maldonado optimistic of points despite qualifying disappointment
Pastor Maldonado says he is optimistic of scoring points during the Brazilian Grand Prix, despite a disappointing qualifying session.
The Venezuelan was the slowest of the 18 runners and was eliminated in the first segment of qualifying. He will start the race in 16th place thanks to seven-place penalties for Sergio Perez and Daniil Kvyat.
'It might not look like it from the lap time in qualifying, but I think we have a good car here, and certainly for the race,' Maldonado said.
