Jules out of surgery, breathing on his own

Jules Bianchi is out of surgery and breathing on his own after suffering "severe head trauma" when he crashed during the rain-affected Japanese GP. With the rain coming down at the Suzuka circuit, the 25-year-old Marussia driver lost control of his MR03 at Turn 7. Going off into the gravel, Bianchi hit a tractor that was on hand to remove Adrian Sutil's stricken Sauber. Bianchi was unconscious as he was transported by ambulance to the Mie General Hospital. There CT scans revealed he had suffered a "severe head injury" and he underwent surgery before being transferred to ICU.
