Suzuka FP1: Rosberg edges Hamilton

Nico Rosberg during FP1 at Suzuka Nico Rosberg was 0.151 of a second faster than Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton as the Japanese Grand Prix weekend got underway amid threat of a typhoon heading towards Suzuka. Ferrari looked impressive in the morning session with Fernando Alonso best of the rest in third ahead and Kimi Raikkonen fourth. Valtteri Bottas in the Williams split the reds on the timing screens.
