Whiting: Reversal of radio clampdown in interest of fairness

+ The sudden reversal of the clampdown on team radio and pit board communications ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix was done in the interest of “fairness” according to FIA racing director Charlie Whiting. The FIA opted to ban all performance based pit-to-car radio communications earlier this week, only to fold after a backlash from teams, who feared that essential procedures, such as those seen at the start of a race, would now be impossible to carry out at such short notice.
