Vergne: I could match Ricciardo
Sutton Images Enlarge Outgoing Toro Rosso driver Jean-Eric Vergne thinks his F1 results suggest he could be as successful as former team-mate Daniel Ricciardo if given a more competitive car. Vergne team-mate comparison 2012: Vergne 16 pts, Ricciardo 10 pts 2013: Vergne 13 pts, Ricciardo 20 pts 2014: Vergne 11 pts, Kvyat 8 pts After Mark Webber announced his retirement last season, Red Bull chose to promote Ricciardo over Vergne, a decision paying dividends after the Australian's three victories this season.
