Belgium FP2: Hamilton shows his hand early
Lewis Hamilton in top form at Spa
Lewis Hamilton may have shown his hand a tad early as he blitzed around Spa-Francorchamps faster than anyone else in Free Practice 2 of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, ending the 90 minutes session ahead of his Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg and with Fernando Alonso again best of the rest in the Ferrari.
The session was marred by Pastor Maldonado's huge crash after he lost control of the Lotus going entering Pouhon and hit the barriers. He was quickly on team radio to report he was okay, but was nevertheless taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. He did not set a time.
