Van der Garde shunt gives Sauber added work
Sutton Images Enlarge Giedo van der Garde's accident at last week's Silverstone test has given Sauber extra work it "didn't need" ahead of this weekend's German Grand Prix. In the final 30 minutes of the second day of testing at Silverstone, Van der Garde crashed heavily at Copse after losing the rear of the Sauber. He was uninjured but the impact wrecked the rear of the Sauber as well as damaging the crash barriers. "The race and the test at Silverstone have left their marks on the team," head of track engineering Giampaolo Dall'Ara said.
