Montreal Practice 1: Alonso edges ahead of Mercedes duo
Fernando Alonso fastest in FP1
Fernando Alonso struck first on the race track named after Gilles Villeneuve, Ferrari's favourite son, to claim top spot in Free Practice 1 of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend and ending a tad faster than the dominant Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
