Bianchi handed grid penalty for gearbox change

Jules Bianchi has been handed a grid penalty for today's Monaco Grand Prix, after the Marussia team changed his gearbox. The Frenchman originally qualified for the race in 19th place, six tenths behind the two Sauber drivers and half a second ahead of his team-mate Max Chilton. However, the team confirmed on Twitter that a problem was discovered on Saturday night that meant the unit had to be replaced. The five-place grid penalty drops Bianchi to 21st, behind Kamui Kobayashi. He will not start from last place thanks to Marcus Ericsson starting from the pit lane following his Q1 crash with Felipe Massa. Image courtesy of Octane Photographic
