Maldonado unconcerned by sponsorship rumours

Pastor Maldonado is not concerned about his Formula 1 future despite comments from the Venezuelan sports minister saying that investment in motorsport will be curtailed. Maldonado's racing career has been largely backed by state oil company PDVSA, which is one of the biggest driver sponsors on the grid. PDVSA brokered his move to Lotus for 2014, aiding the team's financial woes and still having the change to pay Williams $25m for ending the contract one year early. However, since the death of president Hugo Chavez, there have been a number of changes in the Venezuelan government.
