Flag error cuts short Chinese GP by two laps

The Chinese Grand Prix was cut short after the eventual race winner Lewis Hamilton was shown the chequered flag one lap early. The Brit radioed his Mercedes team on the final tour to inform them of the mistake made by the officials, but he still continued to take his third consecutive victory of the 2014 season. The flag was waved at the end of lap 55, but the classified results published by the FIA said that the race was 'declared at the end of lap 54, in accordance with Article 43.2 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations'.
