FOTA officially disbanded
Caterham F1 Team
The Formula One Teams' Association (FOTA) has been disbanded ahead of the 2014 Formula 1 season.
FOTA was set up six years ago but was struck a blow when Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Ferrari and Sauber withdrew a couple of years ago.
FOTA continued with seven of the 11 Formula 1 teams onboard but has now disbanded.
'I can confirm that FOTA has today been disbanded as a result of its members’ having re-evaluated their requirements in the face of a changing political and commercial landscape in Formula 1.”', FOTA general secretary Oliver Weingarten posted on Twitter.
