First glimpse of E22 in action
Lotus have revealed the first image - albeit a distant one - of the E22 in action with Pastor Maldonado at the wheel during a filming day in Jerez.The Enstone-based squad opted to sit out the first test at the Spanish venue to carry out further work on their car, thus this was the first time the team had been able to give the car a proper shakedown.
Given that the other Renault-powered runners managed just 151 laps between them compared to nearly 900 by Mercedes power units, missing the test was perhaps not as big a blow to the team as it might have been and the French engine maker confirmed earlier this week that the Lotus reached the 100km filming day limit "without reliability...
