Kubica crashes out of WRC Monte Carlo

Former Formula One driver Robert Kubica has crashed out of his first World Rally Championship event in 2014 whilst battling for a podium position in Monte Carlo. Kubica, who was forced to quit Formula One ahead of the 2011 season due to a severe injury suffered whilst rallying, has made a remarkable comeback over the past two years which has culminated in his entry to this year's WRC. The Pole is set to complete a full campaign with Malcom Wilson's M-Sport squad. Having made a sensational start, Kubica led the rally at one point and was matching the pace of defending champion Sebastien Ogier for large parts of the event.
