American entry responds to 2015 interest

NASCAR team co-owner Gene Haas has confirmed that he has applied to enter a team into the 2015 Formula 1 world championship. Haas, who co-owner the Stewart-Haas team in NASCAR, responded to the FIA's 'expression of interest'. The sport's governing body opened up an entry process for 2015 or 2016 and Haas has confirmed that he submitted an application. 'We have responded to the FIA’s ‘call for expression of interest’ regarding a Formula One entry on behalf of Haas Racing Development. We respect the FIA’s evaluation process and will share more details in the coming weeks,' he said in a statement.
