Irvine: Double points insanity
Eddie Irvine has branded the idea of double points for the season finale as "insanity" and says he "won't watch another race until the rule is kicked out."The Ulsterman - who drove for Jordan, Ferrari and Jaguar during his F1 career - has never been shy of giving an opinion and had already voiced his displeasure at seeing additions such as DRS introduced to the sport in recent years on Sky Sports' Legends of F1 programme.
The idea of giving double points for the Abu Dhabi GP in 2014 is a step too far for Irvine who now believes rule makers have "lost the plot."
