Hulkenberg 'one of the best drivers' on the grid – Alonso
Fernando Alonso believes Nico Hulkenberg is one of the best drivers on the current Formula 1 grid and thinks he deserves a drive at a top team.
The Sauber driver had a difficult start to the season but has impressed in the second half of 2013. He has scored points in five of the last seven races, including fourth place at the Korean Grand Prix which earned him praise from Alonso.
His strong end to the year has helped him move ahead of Sergio Perez and into 11th place in the drivers' standings. He needs to out-score Paul di Resta by two points in this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix to finish in the top 10.
