Track Guide: Autódromo José Carlos Pace

São Paulo, Brazil, and the 2.676 mile Autódromo José Carlos Pace will host the Formula 1 season finale for the fourth consecutive season. The race will not only mark the end of the 2.4 litre V8 engine era but also the F1 career of Mark Webber, who will move on to the World Endurance Championship with Porsche in 2014. The track is commonly known by its former name Interlagos (which means “between lakes”), but it was renamed in 1982 to honour Brazilian racing driver Carlos Pace, who won his only F1 race at the track in 1975, who died in a plane crash in 1977.
