Alonso battled headaches, back pain

Fernando Alonso says he has battled headaches and persistent back pain since his Abu Dhabi incident, but does not expect to be affected in the United States Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver, who lines up sixth for this afternoon's race, was taken to hospital following the Yas Marina event, during which he experienced a massive 25 G impact after being forced over the run-off area by Toro Rosso rival Jean-Éric Vergne. Although he is still in discomfort, highlighted by the heavy strapping on his back, Alonso says he is largely unaware of the issue when adrenalin is running high.
