Gutierrez and Chilton handed penalties for impeding
Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez and Marussia’s Max Chilton have both been handed penalties by race stewards for impeding during the Q1 part of qualifying in Austin on Saturday.Gutierrez - who qualified in 10th place - has been given a 10-place grid penalty for blocking the Williams of Pastor Maldonado and will now start 20th on the grid."Car #12 unnecessarily impeded car #16 between Turns 19 and 20 whilst performing manoeuvres that the stewards consider dangerous," read an official statement.Chilton - who qualified 22nd - has been handed a drive-through penalty for impeding both Maldonado and Force India’s Adrian Sutil.
