Button baffled by lost pace

Jenson Button believes it was more than just the weather conditions that resulted in him losing pace in qualifying in Austin. The McLaren had looked solid earlier in the weekend, however, when it came down to it in qualifying he was sorely lacking. Having to deal with a blustery tail wind, Button struggled to get the most out of his McLaren. The Brit missed the cut in Q2 by just under two-tenths to finish P13. "I don't know what happened. I couldn't find the balance or the grip. The pace just wasn't there," he said. "That's tough, especially when we've looked pretty quick for most of the weekend.
