Pirelli issues 2014 warning

Pirelli has warned that it will struggle to provide tyres for the 2014 F1 season unless it is given permission to carry out more winter testing ahead of the new campaign.The Italian company has a deal in place to continue as the sole supplier to the grid next year but faces a fresh challenge as it seeks to provide a tyre suitable for the new regulations that will come into force in 2014, when the sport will switch to 1.6 litre turbo-charged engines.The switch to turbo engines and the additional torque produced will put extra pressure on the tyres, with Pirelli keen to try and avoid a repeat of the problems encountered this year.As things stand, Pirelli looks set to only be able to run its...
