Dominant Magnussen seals FR3.5 title

World Series by Renault McLaren young driver Kevin Magnussen sealed the Formula Renault 3.5 championship with a dominant display at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Magnussen secured pole position for both races in Spain and was untroubled across the weekend, clinching the title courtesy of his victory in race one. Will Stevens was within touching distance of Magnussen in the first race but had to settle for second, ahead of McLaren youngster Stoffel Vandoorne. The Belgian driver hounded Magnussen for the lead during the second race but after the compulsory pit stop, champion Magnussen extended his advantage over Vandoorne and was never threatened.
