Lewis unsure of Merc prospects

Lewis Hamilton has admitted Mercedes have work to do on their rear tyre degradation after an inconclusive Friday practice for the team in Japan - although admits the pace of the Red Bulls again means he can't currently contemplate the prospect of victory.The Briton made his now usual fast start to the race weekend by setting the pace in the opening practice session at Suzuka, but in a repeat of the trend that has become familiar in the second half of the season, Red Bull and principally Sebastian Vettel came to the fore in the faster second session to end the opening day on top.
