Alonso looks for Americas Cup inspiration
Fernando Alonso is not one to give up a fight easily, and is drawing on one of the more modern comeback stories to inspire his ongoing pursuit of Sebastian Vettel at the top of the 2013 F1 standings.Although he is now 60 points behind the German with six race remaining, and admits to needing more than a little luck to deny his rival a fourth consecutive title, Alonso insists that he has not given up hope, pointing to last weeks events in San Francisco Bay as proof that hope remains to the very end.“The president and I think anything can happen,” he claimed, “It's like the Americas Cup, where we saw the American team was 1-8 down and they won 9-8.
