No DRS penalty for Button

Jenson Button will not be penalised for using DRS outside of the allocated zones. The McLaren driver's rear wing suffered a malfunction which meant that it was left open through the Ascari chicane in first practice. The stewards immediately opened up an investigation but later decided not to penalise him. A statement from the stewards read: 'The stewards accept the evidence tabled by the team that, despite the DRS being shown as deactivated at the end of the first DRS zone (braking area for Turn 8) the hydraulic activation arm jammed against its carbon fibre cover, preventing deactivation of the wing element.'
