Chilton has no contract in place for 2014

Max Chilton has admitted that he has no contract in place for the 2014 season. However, he hopes that his improved performance in recent races will be enough to keep him in F1 next year. The 22-year-old has finished every race of the season so far, with a best result of 14th at the Monaco Grand Prix. However, he has consistently been out-paced by team-mate Jules Bianchi despite closing the gap in recent rounds. Speaking in the FIA driver's press conference he said: 'My situation is as it has been all year. I have a one-year contract, I am rookie as is Jules [Bianchi], and we are here to learn as much as we can – you learn a lot before you get to Formula 1, but there is a lot to learn...
