Hamilton stunned by Spa pole position

Lewis Hamilton has admitted that his Spa-Francorchamps pole position came as a massive surprise, the Mercedes driver bouncing back from challenging free practice sessions to top the Saturday afternoon timesheets for the fourth weekend in a row. Having struggled with the balance of his car throughout the weekend, Hamilton took full advantage of changing weather conditions in the final qualifying phase, surging to the front to deny championship leader Sebastian Vettel by 0.188 seconds.
