F1 tyre contract situation 'bizarre' - Pirelli
Pirelli's Paul Hembery has described the current situation surrounding Formula 1's tyre supply contract "bizarre" as the Italian company is yet to receive confirmation if it will be the sole supplier next year. Pirelli's exclusive three-year supply deal ends this season, but with no tender going out to seek new suppliers, Pirelli has pushed forward with its plans for the 2014 season. Hembery says agreements are in place with all the parties involved, minus the FIA - which is yet to agree to a new contract amid reports Michelin - a company highly regarded by FIA president Jean Todt - is interested in returning.
