Sauber reserve driver Frijns loses GP2 seat

Sauber reserve driver Robin Frijns has confirmed that he will not race in the GP2 Series for the rest of the season. Frijns, who won the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in his rookie season in 2012, joined Hilmer Motorsport in Bahrain. Frijns went on to win in Barcelona but will be replaced by Adrian Quaife-Hobbs for the remainder of 2013. 'So that was it then,' Frijns posted on Twitter. 'No money no drive! Winning championship is not enough these days! Good luck for all the GP2 boys!' In another driver change, Ricardo Teixeira will replace Kevin Ceccon at Trident for this weekend's round at the Hungaroring.
