WMSC approve of pit lane speed limit reduction

The World Motor Sport Council has approved of the decision to bring forward the reduction of the pit lane speed limit following the incident at the German GP involving an FOM cameraman. Following a mistake in the pits by Red Bull, one of Mark Webber's tyres ran free down the pit lane before striking Paul Allen, who thankfully suffered nothing more than a fractured collarbone and severe bruising. As part of the new sporting regulations for 2014, the FIA had decided to reduce the pit lane speed limit from 100km/h to 80km/h, bringing it closer to the 60km/h that is in place in Australia, Monaco and Singapore due to the layout of the track.
