Ecclestone indicted by German prosecutors
German prosecutors have officially indicted Bernie Ecclestone for alleged bribery. The charge relates to a payment of $44 million (£29 million) to German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky, who is serving an eight and a half year jail term for corruption. Ecclestone claims he paid Grobkowsky in order to prevent a UK tax inquiry into the sale of Formula 1 to CVC Capital Partners, which occurred back in 2006. Speaking to the Financial Times on Wednesday, Ecclestone said: "I have just spoken to my lawyers and they have received an indictment. It's being translated into English.
