Teams wants dedicated Pirelli tyre test

Formula 1 teams want next month's Young Driver Test at Silverstone to be replaced by a dedicated Pirelli tyre test permitting the use of regular drivers, with safety concerns arising after a handful of failures were suffered in the British Grand Prix. The issue, suffered by four drivers, led FIA President Jean Todt to call a post-race meeting with Pirelli and race director Charlie Whiting, with the tyre supplier now being invited to the next meeting of the Sporting Working Committee (SWC) on Wednesday.
