Lack of luck for McLaren after disappointing qualifying session

Both Jenson Button and Sergio Perez suffered a lack of luck and pace during qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, which saw the Woking-based duo eliminated from proceedings after only the second segment of qualifying. Sergio Perez eventually out-qualified team-mate Jenson Button in 12th, with the latter in 14th position. Despite the extremely tricky weather conditions, Sergio Perez was adamant he had enough pace to proceed to the all-important top ten shootout, however the red flag delay caused by Felipe Massa greatly hindered the Mexican’s progress.
