Hulkenberg blames late tyre switch for Q2 exit

Nico Hulkenberg says Sauber missed an opportunity during qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix. Hulkenberg set the eleventh quickest time but believes a place in Q3 was within reach. 'It was a challenging qualifying,' he said. 'Q3 would have been possible as I was six tenths away. But we changed too late onto the super softs and only had one timed lap, which was a missed opportunity. However in changing conditions like those here in Monaco we can be happy we managed to stay out of trouble.' The German is nonetheless pleased at having a free choice of tyres for tomorrow's race.
